Enrolment Information

2025 Foundation (Prep) Enrolments

The Department of Education has released an updated statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline for the 2025 school year.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Coburg Primary School.

All government primary schools will follow the timeline in 2024 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2025 school year.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school at 9354 9332 to book a tour or learn more about our school and the enrolment process.
  2. Submit the Expression of Interest Enrolment form (attached below) for Foundation (Prep) by Friday, 26 July 2024.
  3. You will be notified of the outcome between Monday, 29 July, and Friday, 9 August 2024. If you receive an offer, it will be sent to you along with the official Enrolment Form, which must be completed by Friday, 23 August 2024.
  4. Participate in transition sessions during Term 4, 2024.
  5. Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) on Wednesday, 5 February 2025.

Enrolment applications submitted after 26 July 2024 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

We are now taking tours for 2025 enrolments.

To start primary school your child must turn five years of age, or older, by 30 April of the year that they will start school. Before you enrol your child in a primary school, you may wish to visit a number of schools to decide on the best one for your child. Once you have made your choice you will then be ready to enrol.
